The rangefinder is suited for all robotics applications like mapping, self-localisation and object avoidance. The maximum range is 5.6 meters which is more than enough for indoor use. The scanner is connected by USB2.0. Please note that the scanner gets enough current (>1A) from the USB port. Use the self powerd industrial USB hub to ensure that the scanner gets enough power.
